High Aspirations Inc operates the High Aspirations mobile application (the "App").
1. What Information We Collect
From every user (kids and adults) we only collect:
- Email address OR phone number (used only for sign-in and mentee communication)
- Basic device information (device type, OS version) to make the app work and fix bugs
- Anonymized analytics (which screens are used, crashes) – we never tie this to an individual child
We do not collect names, precise location, photos, contacts, microphone, camera, or anything else.
2. How We Get Parental Consent (COPPA)
Because children under 13 use our app, we are required by U.S. law (COPPA) to get verifiable parental consent before collecting the email or phone number.
Here's exactly how we do it:
- When a child is enrolled in High Aspirations we are given consent by parents or guardians to create an account, we immediately send an email or SMS to the parent/guardian with a clear consent request.
- The parent must click a link or reply to approve before an account can be created for them.
3. How We Use the Information
- To let the child log in securely
- To recover the account if they forget their password
- To send important safety or service messages to the parent
- To keep the app running smoothly
4. Sharing & Advertising
- We do not sell children's data.
- We do not show any advertising to children under 13.
- We only share data with trusted service providers who help us run the app (cloud hosting, email/SMS delivery, parental consent service). All are bound by strict contracts and COPPA.
5. Parental Rights
Parents can at any time:
- Review their child's information
- Delete their child's account and all data
- Stop any further collection or use

6. Teens 13–17 & Adults
If you are 13 or older you can sign up normally. The same privacy protections still apply — we still collect only the minimum.
7. Security & Retention
We use strong encryption and security practices. We delete accounts after 24 months of inactivity (or immediately on parental request).
